A cette saison, les tournesols recouvrent les champs dans tout le Japon, voilà pourquoi cette année, la chaîne hotelière APA resort a employé les talents du célèbre paysagiste Kazuyuki Ishihara pour rendre l’expérience encore plus exceptionnelle qu’elle l’était déjà.
A propos des tournesols au Japon
Himawari【向日葵：ひまわり】, ou tournesols au Japon ont une longue histoire.
Ils sont arrivés au 17e siècle durant la période Edo. Ils n'étaient pas très populaire à l'époque car on y préféré les choses un peu moins délicates et plus petite.
Mais peu après, à la fin du siècle, les tournesols furent présentés dans un ouvrage du nom de Kinmô Zui (訓蒙図彙 sont les caractères japonais pour ceux que ça intéresse) comme des fleurs très populaires. Et comme ce livre était très connu parmi les paysagistes de l'époque, la fleur s'est rapidement répandue partout.
Les tournesols de Joetsu APA Resort
Vous trouverez des champs de tornesols un peu partout que ce soit à Hokkaido, Yamanashi, entre autres, mais ceux à Joetsu sont particulièrement intéressants.
Pourquoi? Parce que la chaîne hotelière APA Resort a demandé à un célèbre paysagiste de s'occuper de leur jardin. Kazuyuki Ishihara aussi appelé "le magicien du jardinage" a gagné la médaille d'or au Chelsea Flower Show.
Ici à APA Resort, vous pourrez contempler un million de tournesols de 27 espèces différentes. L'hôtel possède également mille cinq cents kochia qui deviennent d'un rouge saisissant en automne.

A côté du champ de tournesol se trouve un café qui ressemble à une chapelle, et pour cause, le bâtiment était autrefois une chapelle! Six saveurs de glace à l'italienne, du thé et bien plus encore vous y attendent.

Le soir, l'hôtel organise ce qu'ils appellent APALLUSION, qui est ouvert au public gratuitement cette année (nous y reviendrons très bientôt!)
Vous y trouverez également proche de l'hôtel la station de ski Akakura Ski Resort et les magnifiques chutes d'eau de Naena. De quoi profiter pleinement du déplacement. Vous aurez aussi droit à une cuisine locale qui vaudra le détour, avec des plats tels que le kanzuri et sa pâte au chili et sa saveur citronée unique à la région.

International skiiers are especially fond of Zao Onsen Ski Resort and Gassan Ski Resort, and in recent years visitors have been drawn to the area to see the mystical sight of local frost-covered trees. Some destinations are popular regardless of the season, like Risshakuji Temple, AKA Yamadera, Ginzan Onsen's nostalgic old-fashioned streets, and Zao's Okama Lake, all great for taking pictures. Yamagata is also the place to try Yonezawa beef, one of the top 3 varieties of wagyu beef.

Plus, it's full of all sorts of destinations for travelers, like trendy shopping centers, and the beautiful nature of Itoshima and Yanagawa.

Kagoshima Prefecture played a major role in Japan's modernization as a backdrop for famous historical figures like samurais Saigo Takamori and Okubo Toshimichi, who pushed Japan out of the Edo era and into the Meiji. Because of that, Sengan-en Garden is just one of many historical destinations, and when it comes to attractions Kagoshima has plenty: the active volcano of Sakurajima, popular hot springs Ibusuki Onsen and Kirishima Onsen, World Heritage Site Yakushima Island, even what Japan calls the "island closest to heaven," Amami Oshima. Kagoshima might be found on the very southernmost tip of the southern island of Kyushu, but there's plenty to see.
